Listen to your Staff
Sometimes my employees are my best focus group, especially when it comes to understand how our readers and visitors are thinking. Our initial home delivery method wasn’t working at all and it nearly bankrupted the whole company. I asked my employees for ideas and they suggested street racks for delivery. It worked! That is the single most important decision we have made after founding the company and it was suggested by our employees

Keep on Learning
When the Internet became popular and our readers were finding the world wide web it was a uncomfortable for us. We had just found the business model that really worked well and spend so many hundreds of hours to learn everything we could on printing, distribution and simply running a business and there was this new technology that could destroy us. But we weren’t willing to give up. I personally had to learn things that I didn’t even know existed before. Search Engine Optimization, Performance based advertising, call to actions, computer frameworks, programming languages and the list goes on and on. It was worth it! We are now one of the top Spanish sites in the US and have a large following from all over the Spanish speaking world. With over 1.1 million monthly visitors and willingness to implement new business model even Google is now presenting us as an example of what Internet can do to your business. I am still learning and yes – I still personally do many things online such as optimize our marketing campaigns.
